Ali LeRoi

Ali LeRoi is an Award-winning writer/director/producer best known for his work as showrunner and co-creator (with Chris Rock) on the iconic series “Everybody Hates Chris”. His accomplishments in his television career include five Emmy Nominations for his work in front of and behind the camera on HBO’s “The Chris Rock Show”, his work as a director and producer on the critically acclaimed STARZ series “Survivor’s Remorse”, his foray into Multicam work during his 100-episode run as showrunner/ director on TBS’ “Are We There Yet?” as well as his work as Writer /Director on Arsenio Hall’s return to late-night, and lastly, his work as a writer on The 77th Oscars, The MTV Awards, The BET Awards, and Saturday Night Live.

Accolades include an Emmy win for his work on The Chris Rock Show, two NAACP Image Awards for his work on Everybody Hates Chris, along with nominations and recognition from The Golden Globes, The Writer’s Guild, AFI, People’s Choice Awards, The Humanitas Prize and The Grammy’s

Recently, Ali has continued his work as a writer-producer, having sold the series “The Honorable” to CBS/Viacom, as well as developing a series on his personal experiences of dating post-divorce in “Cuffing Season”.

Most Notably, Ali has turned his attention to his work as a director, with his first foray into drama with his award-winning and critically acclaimed indie film “The Obituary of Tunde Johnson,” and his latest film which recently released “American Refugee” for Blumhouse and Epix, Ali has helmed episodes of The Lat O.G. Starring Tracy Morgan, The Game, a reboot of the successful series created by Mara Brock Akil, Turner and Hooch, a reboot of the Tom Hanks film, reimagined at Disney+ as an action-comedy starring Josh Peck, and Kevin Hart’s Real Husbands of Hollywood.
